HIGHLIGHTS

I have been so much lucky until now and I feel so grateful about it because I´ve enjoyed a lot of opportunities in the artistic field, something that´s very important in mi life, and it´s not only because of being there and being part of it, but also because I´ve learned so much about myself, about discipline, hard work and how to work as a team.

I went 3 consecutive summers to ARTESTUDIO in Mexico City, an scenic arts school, to prepare myself. I took basic dance training like jazz, ballet, and tap; vocal training, cast auditions, acting skills and then we present a final show with several musical numbers. I was living with 7 friends, all of them actors or singers from Mexicali, and it was the first time for me, living without my parents, so, it was so much fun.  Also I went to the theater with my friends several times to see professional plays.

In that moment of my life, the Musical Theater was my life, and since then i'm in love of it; so from 2007 to begins of 2015 I've worked in many local plays here in Mexicali, getting involved not only in the cast, but sometimes doing the vocal direction, and also  being part of coordination and production team.

What I learned in class today.

       I learned about some of the most important Grammar Rules. We talked about each one, and then we did some examples, and corrected the wrong sentences with this information.

This rules are:

1. Subject and Verb Agreement: Subject and verb must agree in number, so isolate the subject and the verb, and make sure they match. 
2. Noun-Pronoun Agreement: Singular subjects take singular nouns, plural subjects take plural nouns. The 13 singular subjects (each, every, either, neither, one, no one, everyone, everybody, someone, somebody, anyone, anybody and nobody) each take a singular pronoun.
3. Pronoun, subjects and objects: You must know when to use the subjects (I, He, She, They, We, Who) and when to use the Objects (Me, him, her, them, us, whom)
4. Pronoun Consistency: Pronouns should be consistent throughout a sentence.
5. Correct Tense: Make sure the action is consistent. Look for key "time words" such as: when, as, after, and so forth.
6. Adjectives and adverbs: Adjectives describe a noun or pronoun and answer three questions: What kind? Wish one? Hoy many?  Adverbs tell where, when, how, or to what extent (how often or how much)
7. Parallel Construction: Ideas that are parallel (related) should be expressed the same way.

Examples:

Do He loves you? (WRONG)

Does He loves you?  (CORRECT)  Rule 1

Everyone shared his lunch yesterday. (WRONG)

Everyone shared their lunch yesterday. (CORRECT) Rule 2

Jake likes skating, drawing and to cook. (WRONG)

Jake likes skating, drawing and cooking. (CORRECT) Rule 7

I like babies, but babies don't like me. (I-Me) Rule 3 

The more I know him, the more I want to be his girlfriend. (I=I) Rule 4

Before you did something, you have to think how to do it. (WRONG)

Before you do something, you have to think how to do it. (CORRECT) Rule 5

THINKING OUT LOUD SENTENCES

1. Sweep you off (of) your feet

This sentence (in this song) means "to carry someone", that's why the autor it's using it to say: "even when we were older, and I couldn't raise you up or hold you in my arms (carry you) i'll be loving you the same way i do now, will you?" but also It's an english expression reffering to the feeling that one gets when completely taken by someone, carried away, swept away (all emotionally), like making someone fall in love with you in a short amount of time, and, sometimes it's applied in a more broad context like: to be surprised, enthralled, exhilarated.

Example: Musicians can be swept off their feet by a new musical composition.

2. Fall in love

Start to feeling love for someone. Being in love.

Example: Claudia falls in love with her baby, every time he smiles at her.

3. Thinking out loud

When you talk about your thoughts to yourself. It's used too like an expression of: "I'm not yet sure of my own opinion (or what am I feeling) about something. I'm just sharing my thoughts just like they are coming in my head. Telling you how I'm thinking at this moment."

Example: I'm sorry, i was just thinking out loud. 

4. Evergreen

That something never dies, and never goes away. It's always "green", FRESH, NEW, YOUNG.

Example: Even if we are miles away, our friendship stays the same. It's evergreen.
